Designer Maurice Scheltens takes common objects out of their natural context and puts them into an experimental environment. The Tableau Tablecloth is a bold example of his process. Using a photogram technique, he has adorned a white cotton tablecloth with the silhouettes of the aftermath of a dinner party. The shadows are able to tell the story of a prior dining experience.
