Dreambaby Retractable Safety Gate
Excellent for putting boundaries for dogs!

I got this gate to have my dogs run to the patio only. It was easy to put up and works beautifully. One only needs to push down on the knob while pulling the retractable gate with the other hand and presto you got yourself an enclosure. I love the fact that it is see through. Here is where this gate could be improved on. I bought the spacers as my place is older. The top spacers are easy to put for both sides. BUT the bottom spacer for the receiver end has an awkward height (see stencil provided with gate please) and it ends up (at least on mine) half way on the wood with a 1cm gap. I asked a friend to cut me a piece of wood which the bottom receiver spacer could be attached to before being screwed into the wall. I wish the manufacturer would make the bottom receiver and female the same height as the one on which the gate rests on. Other than that it is a good gate and has worked fabulously from day one. If you need to buy the spacers you may run into the same problem as I did. Other than that it is an elegant gate that is great for limited spaces. It also wipes clean. I did recommend it to friends.

Very space saving, keeps animals out of places they don't belong and also my son from falling down the stairs, love that it's retractable for small areas
good for stairs

Works good at the bottom of the stairs does not get in the way like most gates...hard to work the mechanism to retract with a 30 lb toddler in your arms though
Difficult to use

Quite honestly, I didn't use this product for very long. It is not "one-handed" as is shown in the picture -- you need one hand to unlock the gate and the other hand to guide the material into the rollers or else it becomes tangled and doesn't roll smoothly. And since I had this product securely mounted at the top of the stairs (i.e. drilled), I now have to have that repaired. I ended up purchasing a baby gate that doesn't require screws and is truly one-handed. I wasn't at all happy with this product, but it's a design flaw.

Honestly, we haven't hung it up yet, as we haven't moved into our new house yet. But we are looking very forward to its functional design fitting our needs exactly. Love how it retracts into almost nothing!

This Gate works great and its super easy to use. Keep dogs out of the living room and folds away very nicely.
A gate worth the money
theresa from rockford, IL
do childcare gate opens with one hand push down turn and open with one hand. Great gate for dogs that dont chew and kids. I have 12 daycare kids and 5 dogs of my own. Love this gate just wish they made it for bigger openings. I would buy another for my mom who has a big arch way in living room. Worth every penny spent.
Dont waste your money

This is my second retractable gate. While it may be easy to open (you cannot do it with one hand) that is the only thing this gate has going for it. We use it as a pet gate and the first day we put it up it was ruined. It is very cheap and not sturdy. The dog jumped up on e it and the material shredded instantly from her claws. It looks like a bunch of spaghetti now. Severely disappointed since I find these gates to be very pricey, and this gate was advertised as a pet gate. There are much better quality retractable gates out there. Look somewhere else in less you have money to waste.
Erratum Great gate, can be operated single-handed
Frederic from Montreal, QC– Verified Buyer
Contrary to my previous post, the gate does open with a single hand, in two steps. Oh well, The good thing is that this review made me check back, next time I'll do it before writing!
