Sandy Chilewich is the founder and creative director of Chilewich / Sultan LLC in the United States. Chilewich has reinterpreted underutilized and overlooked manufacturing practices, producing designs marked by ingenuity and elegance for the last three decades with two distinct businesses. In 1978, Chilewich co-founded the hosiery company HUE with Kathy Moska; by 1997 the company was credited with revolutionizing the leg wear market with its innovations in design, packaging and merchandising. In years after the sale of the still-thriving HUE, Chilewich continued to explore her fascination with materials and textiles. In 1997, she introduced the highly successful Ray Bowl, which was acclaimed with utility patents and numerous awards. In a quest for other fabrics to incorporate into the Ray Bowl, she stumbled upon woven vinyl and fell in love with what she believed was a completely underutilized textile. Hence the launch, in 2000, of Chilewich's current distinctive product line of vinyl textiles. Chilewich went on to design and manufacture a number of successful applications for her growing collection of textiles. Her tablemats and floor mats can be seen in homes and better restaurants around the world. Chilewich bags, totes and cosmetic bags are modern and functional, perfect for travel and everyday use. In 2001 Chilewich, together with her architect husband, Joe Sultan, launched their first product for contract use. The two have changed the firm's corporate name to Chilewich / Sultan LLC to reflect their emergent business partnership. The award-winning Chilewich / Sultan LLC products are sold around the world.Using the same colorful yarns as the woven vinyl products, the Shag Mat is tufted for a textured ‘looped’ look. Shag Mats are an all vinyl product which makes them ideal for bathrooms, outdoor terraces and entry mats. Available in either a doormat, utility or big mat these mats all come in a variety of wonderful colors that are sure to add a great modern touch to any room of your home.

Using this as an outdoor mat. It doesn't blow me away but it is unique and serves its purpose. The material has a very plastic feel.
Best rugs ever!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! This floor mat is used at our front door and we have already received so many compliments, even from our designer who did not pick this out as I just bought it on my own. Super contemporary and durable. Easy to clean too!

This mat looks great and seems very durable. A stylish addition to any home. I'm using it indoors just inside my back kitchen door and it is low enough that the door swings right over the top.

Chic Pattern & Bright Colors

The colors and patterns are true to pictures online. The mats are not very thick, but nevertheless are of very good quality. I ordered the tangerine door mats on sale, normal prices are a bit high but worth it.

I ordered a 3 of these. One was the wrong color, but not a big deal. They definitely help on porches and in the mud room so you're not tracking in a bunch of gunk on your shoes. I gave it 4 stars because it can shift/slide around a bit depending on the floor surface (seems to stay in place best on concrete/cement).
