Sandy Chilewich is the founder and creative director of Chilewich / Sultan LLC in the United States. Chilewich has reinterpreted underutilized and overlooked manufacturing practices, producing designs marked by ingenuity and elegance for the last three decades with two distinct businesses. In 1978, Chilewich co-founded the hosiery company HUE with Kathy Moska; by 1997 the company was credited with revolutionizing the leg wear market with its innovations in design, packaging and merchandising. In years after the sale of the still-thriving HUE, Chilewich continued to explore her fascination with materials and textiles. In 1997, she introduced the highly successful Ray Bowl, which was acclaimed with utility patents and numerous awards. In a quest for other fabrics to incorporate into the Ray Bowl, she stumbled upon woven vinyl and fell in love with what she believed was a completely underutilized textile. Hence the launch, in 2000, of Chilewich's current distinctive product line of vinyl textiles. Chilewich went on to design and manufacture a number of successful applications for her growing collection of textiles. Her tablemats and floor mats can be seen in homes and better restaurants around the world. Chilewich bags, totes and cosmetic bags are modern and functional, perfect for travel and everyday use. In 2001 Chilewich, together with her architect husband, Joe Sultan, launched their first product for contract use. The two have changed the firm's corporate name to Chilewich / Sultan LLC to reflect their emergent business partnership. The award-winning Chilewich / Sultan LLC products are sold around the world.

Chilewich Bamboo Floormat
Color a little off...
Ryan from California– Top 500 Reviewer
I'm really happy with the quality of these floor mats. They are really durable and just what I wanted. The only thing I was disappointed in is the color is more of an Olive green than Grey Flannel. But overall they are fine and working well for my needs.
Unexpected combination of lovely and durable

I bought this floor mat for my smallish entry area because I needed something large enough to allow people to remove winter boots without having to hop around on a really small mat to do so. It's incredibly easy to clean with water and a light scrubbing -- and I can't believe how modern and elegant it looks.
great looking, simple durable modern door mat

Very nice modern indoor door mat... I do live in Arizona though, so if you live in a colder climate with snow rain etc... Not sure how this would fare, as it is definitely not absorbant.

I bought this floormat for the front entry area, it looks very chic. It is waterproof and dries quickly, so the wood floor is protected from wet shoes. Easy to clean and looks better than most mats.

Just as expected
Kimberly Zingale from Washington, DC– Verified Buyer
This floormat was just what I had expected after seeing it for sale in person in housewares stores. We didn't realize it would have a rubbery backing, but it does, which is good. A nice surprise.
Beautiful stylish mat
David Stangeland from Winnipeg, MB– Verified Buyer
This makes the perfect floor mat for my front entrance way. It isn't too thick which is good so the door can pass over it. It is very stylish and really quite beautiful.

exactly what I expected!
warms up a tile floor
Brian from Berkeley, CA– Verified Buyer
This does a great job of warming the tile floor in a minimally heated bathroom it lies flat and is not so high as to block the door swing. Color bamboo was a trifle lighter shade than expected, but it looks good with natural stone and wood finishes.
Kate from Culver City, CA
These mats are awsome, great texture yet easy to keep clean. We are using them at the kitchen sink and a small entry.
