Castiglioni, Achille and Pier Giacomo
Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, brothers from Milan, unified their design aspirations immediately after the Second World War. The pair focused mainly on city planning and architecture, particularly on design. They have received numerous acknowledgements, such as the permanent exhibition of six of their works at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, in addition to winning five editions of the Compasso d'Oro award. Continuing their spectacular design legacy, they have reinvented many items for Alessi featuring modern flair and functionality. Achille was named A&W Architektur & Wohnen's Designer of the Year in 1999.
