Axel Wowereit studied industrial design at the Bergisch University in Wuppertal. He founded his own design office “venturadesign” in 1994. Wowereit's works follow the principle that form has to follow function. “gestures and actions treating objects are analyzed and tested for improvement potential” explained Wowereit. Therefore emerged appropriate solutions that are often more easy to manage than by habit, such as the mono cutlery series from Carl Mertens. Besides the pure functional aspects, the designs of Wowereit moreover speak a clear and minimalist form speaking. His focus is led to household ware, living accessories, furniture and fittings, for this he has already received the red dot award in 1995, a design award from the German Design Club as well as the Design Plus in 2007.Mano means "hand" in Italian and this collection inspired the most useful of human tools at our disposition, retaining a great dignity in the form.
