Bodum Spare Glass French Press 8 Cup Shatter Resistant Replacement Carafe
Works Well for awhile but Glass is better

I bought this because replacing a whole new french press was too expensive at the time. I would only use this for a temporary amount of time until you get a new french press or a glass one.
Replacement Carafe for Bodum French Press Coffeemaker

On the 'plus' side, the carafe's being plastic means traveling with it is easier for packing and much less to worry about in transit. On the 'minus' side, after two or three uses I could not remove the carafe from the metal holder and bent the holder's handle in the process of trying. Putting it through the dishwasher twice has caused the black handle to become grayish and dull. The carafe itself is already beginning to look cloudy after just a few weeks' use, and I have no doubts that it won't be long before I see vertical streaks on the inside caused from movement of the press up and down. If I had it to do over again, I would have made certain to order a glass carafe.
