Bill, Max

Max Bill was a renowned Swiss Architect, artist, typeface designer, and graphic designer. Bill was originally an apprentice for a Silversmith before studying at the Bauhaus in Dessau learned from such teachers as Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Oskar Schlemmer. One of Max Bill's most regarded designs was the Ulmer Hocker stool that can be used as either a stool or a shelf unit.
