Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas were both born in Rome and graduated in architecture from La Sapienza University. In 1967 Massimilano opened a practice in Rome, followed in 1989 and 1993 by firms in Paris and Vienna, with Doriana becoming his close partner in 1985. They now live and work shuttling between Rome and Paris, teaching in numerous universities, including the Staadtliche Akademie der Bildenden Kⁿnste, the ╔cole SpΘciale d'Architecture, Columbia University in New York, and La Sapienza University in Rome.
