About the Designers
Livio CastiglioniLivio Castiglioni Italy (1911 - )

Born in Milan in 1911. Livio Castiglioni graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1936. He started working with his brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo immediately after the war focusing their attention mainly on city planning, architecture and particularly on design. All the experiments and studies on design were possible thanks to the many exhibitions they designed and where Livio worked as light and sound technician.

Pier Giacomo CastiglioniPier Giacomo Castiglioni Italy (1913 - )

Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was born in 1913. Graduated from the Department of Architecture at Milan Polytechnic in 1937. He exhibited at every Milan Triennale from 1940 on, winning many awards. For the latter, based on the theme "Leisure time, living time", Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was a member of the Executive Committee. He was particularly active as the curator of exhibition installations for national and international institutes and leading companies attending national and international exhibitions: Montecatini, RAI, ENI, Triennale di Milano, Mostre Esposizioni Torino, "Italia 61", AGIP.

Luigi Caccia DominioniLuigi Caccia Dominioni Italy (1913 - )

Born in Milan in 1913, Dominioni graduated in architecture from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1936 and in the same year he started his activity in Venice together with Livio and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, with whom he won the competition held at the Vimercate School. In the field of Industrial design he was considered a "pioneer,ö and eventually set up a collection of his signature furniture and objects. The "Caccia" cutlery he designed for Alessi are on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art of New York as an example of fine functional design. The "Caccia" Flatware Collection was originally crafted in 1938 in silver. It has been in reproduction since 1990 from polished 18/10 stainless steel for durability and elegance. Simple yet beautiful, the "Caccia" Dinner Knife boasts a sleek and slender appearance that is sure to accentuate your table setting.
