Mendini Alessandro was born in Milan in 1931, former director of Casabella, Modo and Domus, winner of a Compasso d’Oro and designer of the Groninger Museum in Groningen, the Casino in Arosa, the Forum in Omegna, he is a designer, architect and image consultant for Philips, Swarovski, Swatch, and Bisazza.
Margarine Anna was born in Milan in 1970. In 1993 he graduated from the Istituto Europeo di Design IED. While studying, Rodolfo Bonetto joined the firm in industrial design. From 1993 to 2004 he worked with the architect Alessandro Medini at the Atelier Mendini, where he became responsible for the design. Following projects for Swatch, Venini, Alessi, Swarovski, Artemis, Koziol, Etro, Luxo, Olivari.
The “Asta” cutlery set completes Alessandro Mendini's concept for the table, together with the designs for porcelain services named “How much white” (for the white version) and “How many stars”, “How many colours” and the no-longer-produced “Proust” (for the decorated versions), and the “Din-don” glasses presented for the first time in 2004.
