Aldo Rossi is considered by many to be the greatest Italian architect of the second half of the 20th century. His life as an architect started with Gardella and Zanuso. An author of abstraction, reduction and brevitas, his severe language of primary shapes, geometrical patterns and silent evocation created some of the most intensely poetic works of architecture and design in his age. These exact characteristics exude from his products as well, utilizing geometrical shapes to make profound design statements. Rossi died in 1997. Continuing this legacy in the design and creation of the Il Conico water kettle, the piece itself is composed of a simple geometric shape, the cone with other small understated embellishments, such as the spherical knob on top. Although these are primary shapes, the piece is extremely distinguished and elegant. It is made from 18/10 mirror-polished stainless steel with a magnetic heat diffusing bottom for induction cooking.

This is a piece of art. I will leave it out on the stovetop of my newly renovated very modern kitchen. I love it. I looked many places and this is the nicest on. I did not mind the fairly high price once I saw it.

This is a stunning modern piece and it works well. The water heats quickly, thanks to the shape. The handle stays cool. The spherical bulb top does not.

Classic alarm buzzer without the clunky double-bell & hammer. The seconds arm moves smoothly. The different circles on the arms make it easier to tell the time. Many colors available. Numerals in a clear font.

I love my new tea kettle! It is a great conversation piece and adds charm to my kitchen. The lid fit is good as it is tight enough that it won't fall off.

This teapot is just beautiful.

I have had this pot for about a year and a half and am about to order the sugar and creamer to match. I love this pot. I have boiled it dry a few times and it has held up to all the abuse. The pot is a piece of sculpture. Every day I enjoy it's artistic statement. I have bought 3 of the Michael Graves' pots for daughters and one of my daughters had my husband buy this one for me. I prefer this to the Graves' pot.
Bold and Efficient Design

This teapot has a bold and striking design which is very complementary to a modern kitchen, since its normal resting place is on the stove. It's pointed shape places the spout well inside the diameter of the pot which makes it easy to insert a chef's thermometer for precise heating of water used for green tea. Its wide base catches all of the heat source for quick and efficient heating. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. The only downside is a metal handle, but at least it is obvious that you need a potholder to use it.
