About the Designers

Stefano Giovannoni

Stefano Giovannoni Italy (1954 - )

Born in La Spezia in 1954, Stefano as an architect and designer was taught by Buti at Florence University. In the early 80Æs he founded the King-Kong Production Group along with Guido Venturini. His explosive talent enables him to embody a complex system of 'affective codes' in his projects. This great approach won him the title of 'Super and Popular' designer in the 90Æs. A technical designer par excellence, he has industrial design in his DNA and the capacity to understand public sentiment like no other designer. His projects began with the "Girotondo" (1989 designed with Guido Venturini) and the first transparent objects in plastic from the "Family Follows Fiction" series (1993). There is a huge number of his items in the "Officina Alessi", "Alessi" and "A di Alessi" catalogues.

Elisa Gargan

Elisa Gargan Italy (1960 - )

Born in Pordenone in 1960, Elisa Gargan specialized in Industrial Design at the Scuola Politecnica di Design. From 1986 to 1991 she collaborated with Michele De Lucchi. She is partner at Giovannoni Design studio and works as designer with Alessi, Giemmegi, Metals, Viceversa and others. She also holds design courses at the Domus Academy.

About the Manufacturer

Alessi's intention, from the beginning, was to be highly innovative and ready to experiment with cookware. With this in mind, the Alessi family venture explored new materials and novel design in becoming one of the finest and most well-known contemporary cookware brands. Alessi prides itself on its unique collaboration with designers and architects to produce beautiful, quality cookware. Among some of the best known of the Alessi's products are Richard Sapper's kettle with a two-tone whistle, Michael Graves' kettle with bird shaped whistle, and Philippe Starck's Juicy Salif citrus squeezer.

Looks great!

from Clearwater, FL – Verified Buyer

I got the white bread bin to reduce clutter and match all my other appliances on the counter top. I splurged when it was on sale. A little pricey, and small, compared to other not-as-interesting bread boxes out there but I knew that and like it anyway. It holds one bread loaf, not a practical purchase if you want to stuff more in there! Pros: Sleek, durable finish, high quality, fast shipping. Cons: Unique design means it doesn't hold much for the price.

big Alessi fan!

from new york, NY – Verified Buyer

i'm never dissapointed with Alessi products. this item is very cool. i purchased the white. it's not as translucent as the other colors (which would have been nice) but i like it anyway. you can fit a loaf of bread, 6-8 bagels or a baggette if you half it. it is also good for pound cakes, boxes of cookies crackers etc. very nice product when it's on sale - otherwise kind of expensive.

beautiful addition to my kitchen!

from Santa Monica, CA – Verified Buyer

I love this bread bin. The look of it is amazing, and the way the drawer opens / shuts is very smooth. It reminds me of sci-fi movies where they have something elegant and simple. Its perfect with my mid-century modern furniture and blends in with everything, but also has this "wow, what is that" factor that I love.

Nice design, but

from Chicago – Verified Buyer

The design is as clean as it is in the pictures, sharp. However, it feels thin and structurally unstable, I wish it was a bit thicker. Also the lid makes a mild scratching noise when you're lifting it, I wish that was worked out differently. Overall, I'm a visual person and enjoying this piece.

Fancy Bread Bin

from San Diego, CA – Verified Buyer– Top 100 Reviewer

This bread bin is exactly what I was looking for to complement my very modern kitchen. I like the fact that the material is translucent which allows me to see what I have inside. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something simple yet with a strong appeal.

Super-unique!

from West Columbia, TX – Verified Buyer

What a great contemporary bread bin! You can "blend it" with vintage pieces too! It took me a while to adjust to the unique shape of it. Looks a bit like something from "Star Wars". Anyway, "go for it" if this look is your "thing"!

Small small small~

from Kentucky

This bread bin is actually beautiful and well made, but it is very small. I'm talking one loaf of bread kind of small. I was expecting it to be much much larger.
