Born in 1932, acclaimed Finnish designer Eero Aarnio changed the face of industrial design through his groundbreaking use of plastic. Combining the sculptural elements of his early fiberglass designs with a modern understanding of ergonomics, Aarnio considers the Formula Chair to be one of the best chairs he has ever designed. With a deep, comfortable seat and gentle rocking motion, the Formula Chair is a wonderful piece for relaxation.

The Design:
- The Formula Chair takes its name from Formula 1 auto racing, of which Aarnio is a fan and is also the inspiration behind the chair's distinctive appearance. Aarnio describes the design conceit in this way: "When looking at a Formula 1 car from above, there are two very wide 'armrests' on either side of the driver, and looking from the side there is a high headrest. When you take out the wheels, what is left is clearly a Formula Chair and they both move about, although the car is faster."
- Despite the chair's inspiration from the fast-paced world of auto racing, the function of the chair is clearly more laid-back. A person's arms can freely drape across the wide armrests as the chair rocks back and forth - there is even a cup holder!
- With a number of bright and more austere finishes available, the chair is suitable for a wide number of environments and is sure to become the focal point of any room.

This item will be delivered by a white glove freight carrier. White glove carriers are different from common carriers in that they provide the customer with many benefits throughout the delivery process. Unlike common carriers, a white glove delivery team consists of at least two people so you will not be burdened with helping the driver carry your order from the back of the truck to your home.
Important note: Once your order arrives in your area, a representative from the white glove carrier will call you to arrange a 4 hour window for delivery. You MUST inspect your package at the time of delivery. If the product has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.

We offer 2 different levels of service for this item: White Glove Gold and White Glove Platinum. White Glove Gold service is selected as your default shipping method; if you wish to upgrade to White Glove Platinum you may make this selection in your cart during the checkout process. White Glove Gold
Gold service level provides two-man delivery to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide basic setup that requires no tools (i.e. will set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.
White Glove Platinum
Platinum service level provides two-man delivery to inside your residence to the room you choose. This service includes carrying the product up two flights of stairs from the building threshold (4-15 steps = 1 flight). If you need the product moved up additional flights please contact us*. Once the product is in the room you desire, the shipper will unpack the product and provide light setup that requires basic tools (i.e. pieces will be screwed or bolted together, set pieces next to each other, or on top of each other). The shipper will also remove and dispose of all packaging.
*In all cases the shipper will not hookup any electrical or component wires. Having items carried up more than 25 steps and longer assembly periods are available as additional services which would require additional charges. Please contact us if you feel you need these services.
