Specifications
The Esther Chair is the armed counterpart of the Balcones Chair. Sturdy, expressive and comfortable, the Esther Chair comes with a removable back pad. Available with Hurricane Felix felled old growth lumber as well as coffee and teak plantation lumber.

Features:

  • All Nanciton comes from trees 100-150 years old that fell during Hurricane Felix in 2007. Nanciton is a deep brownish purple with straight consistent grain patterns. Over time Nanciton will darken and look similar to walnut.
  • All Frijolillo comes from trees 100-150 years old that fell during hurricane Felix in 2007. Frijolillo is a heavy and dense wood that is light in color and very durable. Frijolillo has long consistent grain patterns that blend together and work very well for furniture.
  • All Nogal comes from trees 50-70 years old. Nogal is commonly used as a shade tree for coffee plantations in Nicaragua. once the Nogal trees become too large they are replaced with smaller trees that provide more adequate shading. Nogal is medium weight and hardness and is a consistent deep brown color.
  • All Cedro Macho come from trees 100-150 years old that fell during Hurricane Felix in 2007. Cedro Macho is in the same family as mahogany but has a slightly lighter reddish color.
  • All teak comes from trees 20-40 years old taken from plantations around Nicaragua. Teak plantations add value to land used for cattle farming as well as filter large amounts of carbon dioxide with their large leaves. Plantation teak is lighter in color than old growth teak but is still a favorite among woodworkers for its smooth grain and workability
